After 20 years, returning to the track

Post by kcarchitect »

So, I haven't built a car since I was in cub scouts. I was very excited to have a Tiger cub this year and even more so to serve as their den leader. After getting online to do some research I couldn't believe how much derby has changed and how much it's stayed the same. A lot more high tech now but still about spending time with a kid doing something that's fun. We had a blast, I wanted to post a few pics of his car and mine. Pretty proud of him for his first year, he got some help from dad on the fenders but did a majority of the details and most of the paint work all on his own. (Special thank you to the dremmel corporation and Dupli-Color for making it look easy.) Got lots of great information from this site, Thank you to all the members who have shared knowledge, wisdom, help, and expertise.

:welcome:

You've found a great site, and a great source of valuable information for the next 5 years of Derby racing. :D

My boys bridged over to Boy Scouts last year, and I learned most of what helped us succeed in the Derby here on this site. Great people and great information.

And good for you for volunteering to be their Den Leader! I was my twins Den Leader for 5 years, and while it was demanding at times, I wouldn't trade the experience for anything.

Use the Search feature on this site, and you'll be building blazing fast cars with your son in no time.

Truly amazing craftsmanship and paint jobs on the cars.
