I'm working on a set right now (and here I thought I was being creative...)
It seems to cut and sand well, and as I understand it a thin layer of acrylic paint will serve to protect and strengthen them.

Hay that's grate Ironband. got any pic's of them?
You're right it can be painted with water base acrylic or latex paints.
I don't know how well the white Krylon craft foam primer spary paint will work on it.
Do you know if a clear gloss water base polyurethane spay paint can be spayed on it as well?
Been doing some reading about XPS foam in RC airplane mags & thought it would work well for making light weight fenders!
But unsure of how well it paints up .. and or the resins that can be use as a hardener on it to make it hard like a plastic.
Still have lots to learn about it .. but would like to try it in my model making as well.

Yeah, tests with acrylic gloss paint have been less than satisfactory. However, I think some PVA and then urethane over that could be quite durable.

Yeah, basically Modge Podge or White glue watered down.
I haven't finished a set yet to take pics of, but when I have something pic worthy I'll throw it up.

WOW ironband !
Id say they were as well .. look'en really good! Thank's for the pic!
Seeing your scale in your pic .. reminds me I need to get a bigger one that will weigh over 25 oz for the rigs.
And is that 1 gram I'm seeing in read out on your scale?

Nice job. Fenders certainly do make them look like a race car.
