sounds like a air born, shoot the car and try to get it to land in the barrel and pick up the pieces.

With the vision of these craft as "Pinewood Derby Cars", the event seems almost profane. I must try to think of them as unrelated to the love, hope and dedication that a youngster applies to their creation.

Seems a little beyond the original plans of Don Murphy.
My wife started a new support group... Widows of the Pinewood Derby.

The barrel is 50' from the end of the ramp... I just don't see any of the cars coming close to that 50'.

And I hope they use the C6-0 motor or D12-0 motor.. these do not have any ejection charge.
The ejection could cause pieces of the car to turn in to shrapnel.
