Pack Win and District Win (updated)!

Post by bioran »

We had our Pack race today and my son took first place! This is our second year making a rail-rider based on everything I've read here - so I just want to send another thank you to all those that contribute here. Last year he derailed once, but everything went great today. His little brother won the sibling race (the Luigi Cart). A great day for sure - districts in 3 weeks! I'll update the post with the results afterwards.

Congratulations to both your children! It is an awesome feeling! Good looking cars and good luck at districts!

I am suffering from the PWD blues since we are all done. :( A couple other Dads are too in our pack, so I think we are going to have PWD car show this summer.

Blue tires are a nice touch. Really makes the car pop.

:welcome: biorain,

The Luigi Cart is a cool looking car.
It has that vintage look to it Kinda like the old Indy cars.
I really like how you guys turned the #7 upside down to took look like an L
for Luigi.

Great job with these cars guys & Congrats on the Wins!

Thanks for the compliments! I stressed out a little over the blue wheels because after we built it I read in the rules that we had to use only the kit. Turned out that since these are official "grand prix" wheels from the scout shop they were ok. We've been using Sharpie's instead of paint the last couple of years for some of the graphics. The luigi cart uses the white sharpie and we hand drew the circles with the L. The windshield on the low profile car is a black sharpie.

We've used sharpies on Chick Hicks and The King also:

Say the Chick Hicks car is cool.. And is that a Max-V Indy car also?

We had the district races today and my son took first place! It was another great day. He didn't have a lot of confidence or high expectations going in because he was there as a Tiger and Wolf and did not perform well. Once he saw his first race he could tell he had a chance. We decided next year we're going to hold a workshop for our Pack to share everything we've learned here. Thanks again!
