On the axles, not on the wheels! Fully cured before assembly. About 3 days from alignment to race.

I'll spend Tuesday evening showing rest of Grandson's pack how I align and let 'em use my equipment ... with close guidance. Will expect to record before/after times for those who participate. (Already built cars is an ideal environment for my biased weight method!)

It was a test and it did melt the wheels

Ummm ... yes, I can see that melting 'em!
So far as I can tell, all the volatile, wheel melting components of Sailkote evaporated as the axle coating dried, leaving the wheels happy to be in contact.

Inner edge radial run-out issues. Not well polished.

Actual time on the car (not including drying time) is usually 2 to 3 hours. Though this years car has maybe an hour and a half into it as we went with a simple design and have the construction process down pat after 7 years of doing this.

Hmmmm. I guess that I am going on about 3 years now.
When it is done I will post the results here.
