You Might Be a Pinehead If...

Post by ninjarabbi1997 »

I posted this on the WIRL Performance Boards, thought it would be fun here too:

I thought this would be fun. I'll start with a few and you can add to them:

You know you're a Pinehead if...
1) You know Derby Master's real name.
2) You have asked to be buried in a Pinewood coffin shaped like your derby car.
3). If your derby car coffin (above) will be tungsten weighted so it's CG is 1" above your rear's axle.
4) If you know the name of at least 4 of Derby Master's cars.
5) You've recently purchased stock in Nyoil.
6). 2 or more of your fingers are permanently stained with graphite with moly B.
7) You've named your children to intentionally have the initial's PWD.
8) If you refer to the after life as "that giant aluminum track in the sky"
9) If you've ever had a vivid dream of breaking the 18 second barrier and woke up not knowing if the dream was real or not.
10) If you've ever thought of developing a snack food that looks like Max V's thin outlaw wheels.
11) You've watched online videos of several heats of a WIRL race, and you've never entered a car.
12) You believe that PWD racing should be an Olympic Sport.

Interpreting Your Score:
1-3 Please, join Pinewood Anonymous' support group (or is that what these message boards are?)
4-6 With strong medicine and intense therapy, well, sorry, there really isn't much hope.
7-11 Maybe you could be on a reality show--Real WIRL'd.
12 Congratulations, you are the new Pinehead Poster child.

If family planning means staging the births of your childern so one starts the derby as one finishes.

You use your kitchen table more for making cars than eating on.

+ All of your gift requests for Birthday, Father's Day and Christmas consist of tools for building cars.
+ You design and conduct experiments to test out theories on car performance.
+ You consider renting time on a wind tunnel to measure your car's aeordynamic drag coefficient.
+ You use CAD software to design your car and a CNC machine to shape it.
+ You go through 100 wheels until you find the best matched set of 4.
+ You use a microscope to examine the polish of your axels.
+ You go over the rules with a fine tooth comb to see if the latest "speed secret" is prohibited.

Hey, I resemble those remarks!

You might be a pinehead if....you log into Derby Talk multiple times a day to see if there is any new tips that can be used in a race 3 months away.

+ if you spend more time with your Pinehead brethren online than with your actual family on Thanksgiving!

+ while cutting the turkey, you can't help shaping it to be more aerodynamic...

+ you use PWD kits as stocking stuffers

If you know who Stan Pope is but don't know who Pope Paul is.
Hi, I live with my Dad in Louisiana. Dad says that God created me to serve Him by helping others. If you need my help just ask.

  • You own tools worth hundred of dollars, and use them only during derby season.
  • You display your derby cars in cabinets worth hundreds of dollars.
  • You understand the difference between a race method's fairness and its accuracy.
  • You understand criteria for evaluating race methods other than fairness and accuracy.

Your wife's eyes appear "glazed over" as your eyes become wider and brighter the more you talk about PWD.
