Here's a new site that I came across. http://www.pinewoodderbytemplates.com

It looks like a good start on a collection of car design templates. Hopefully, they will add a bunch more.

Be careful when using these templates. The template show the wheel slot which is located closer to the end of the block at the front. This should be reversed so that the closer wheel slot is at the rear of the car.

At my son's Pack race last year, there was a kid who had an e-bay car that had the axles "reversed". It was a work of art - it was a miniture Lowe's NASCAR. Fast, too. In fact, it won the first meeting against my son's car! We ran it down in the later rounds, but at the weigh-in, I saw the reversed axles and thought it would be easy to beat. Not so!

Actually, that is a different site.

Larry Bosworth's site is a great resource for many things and fortunately includes some great car templates. I print these out and put them in a binder and call it my "Idea Book" and use it at our workshops. It helps the kids that have no idea what to build to get them going. Once they pick out a design, I print a copy, they cut it out, and then trace it onto the block.
