6th Grade Science Project

Post by gpraceman »

I stumbled upon this site http://multihome.www.opus1.com/pullen/p ... /index.htm that you all might be interested in seeing. I think it is a great seeing kids getting involved in learing the science behind derby racing and doing experiments to learn even more.

I like the pictures proving that the start pins pull down well ahead of the cars.

An email friend challenged me on this issue back when I was doing my experiments, and I ended up having to hook up both ends of my "timer" to my starting gate to prove it.

Very impressive -- this youngster did a ton of good work!

This is a really great project for a sixth grader. I think the "wear-in" and graphite results are particularly interesting. A great idea for middle schools kids who are looking for a fun and informative science project.
