Where to get lane-by-lane tray?

Post by rdeis »

We need an additional tray for carrying cars from the impound to the track.

Is there a kit or a tray at one of the derby stores? (Kit would be coolest because building such a thing meets a Wolf requirement..)

I fabricated one using the go no go box as a template. Fairly simple design, flat base with 1/4"X 3" perimeter and dividers per number of lanes. You could place a 3/4" dowel in center for carrying, akin to a plaster or masonary hawk, but it's not required.

I built two for our pack race. I went to Wallmart and got two plastic storage containers just big enough to hold four cars. Then I took 1 x 1/2 pieces of wood and screwed them to the bottom of the box. I got some nonslip tape of carpets and put it on top of the wood so the cars would not shift and it gave it some cushion. I then put tape with our lane colors on the sides of the box above each piece of wood. It worked great. I wish I took pictures of them before all the PWD supplies where [packed away.
