Making the boys proud

Post by PackMan »

Last year our Cub Scout Pack has adopted the policy that every boy receives a trophy of some sort so we came up with a few trophies that the racing committee awards to "fill the gaps". Last year's were:

Best Design
Most Creative
Best Sportsmanship
Best Workmanship

In the last year, our Pack grew some and we need a few more. Anyone have ideas?

One award that you might consider is something I'm trying to promote with our Pack and that is to create an award for the den with the best AVERAGE time.

A sort of traveling trophy could sit in the school's trophy case until next year's race crowns a new winner. A group picture of all of the boys in the winning den would accompany the trophy for the year. Displaying the trophy at school would help promote scouting and give bragging rights for a year to the winners.

The real idea behind it though is to promote team work among the cubs in the den and get everyone trying to help each other and then just maybe everyone learns something in the process. Whether it is how to build a better car or how to work together with others.

gpraceman, that's an impressive list. Certainly will have enough to choose from. Thanks.

Rand & Son, that's a great idea and will pass it along to the Committee. Makes a lot of sense to me. Thanks.
