Another year, another derby...

Wow...

87 cars, 181 races, greetings, explanations, prayer, awards, great bad puns from the MC, a potluck, a couple lubrication-free cars that had a tough time crossing the finish line (oops!), a roll of film for photos of the unusual cars, a couple scares (computer problems, electronics problems) that were taken care of before the races,...

Some of the unusual car designs:

• a traffic signal (green, of course) that was also very fast
• a miniature Eiffel Tower and Champs de Mars (from a visiting French girl)
• my "Finding Nemo" aquarium (inspired by a photo posted elsewhere on the board)
• an oasis with tiny origami birds
• Noah's ark
• two SpongeBob SquarePants cars
• a flying carpet

I really do need to get the last few years' photos up on my web site...

An hour after the last race, everything was put away and the room was set up for tomorrow's Sunday school classes.

Great Job and can't wait to see the pictures!!!! Some people have more fun with how the car looks than how fast it will go. Then some people are able to achieve both.

Our derby is less than a week away and I hope Murphy does not pay me a visit. I also hope that each car can cross the finish line and that everyone has fun. Say a prayer for me just in case.
