Derby Talk

At the pack level we have a Judges favorite and a scouts fav. The judges favorite is picked by 3 leaders ( all blinded to scout name to some extent). Our scouts judge quickly before the event. We rush them so as to get the derby going and there is less time to vote for the most popular (again no names on cars). As the judges favorite is very subjective we will often keep the runner up in mind in case the judges favorite wins a speed award. We allow winning best design and other creative awards and speed awards except for judges favorite.

I have no opinion about creative awards at Districts. Have yet to go.
