What I been upto
Wanted to say to all and mention what I been upto.
Well work has been slow, still hoping for it to pick up for get better.
But have been just relaxing and hanging out.
I however has gotten back into nitro r/c.
Recently started tinkering with 1/8th scale monter 4x4 trucks.
Picked up some used ones and fixing them up. and running one.
tamiya terra crusher.
Picked one up for $1 at a rummage sale, wow, just needed about $30 in parts, and it was up and running.
Then fixing up for a friend a 32" r/c nitro boat. I knew that air brushing would come in handy other than pinewood derby. lol.
Hoping down the road I can get a 1/5th scale, there huge but run around $1,000.
Getting married next month also.

Re: What I been upto
Hey Sporty,
I'm glad to hear that you are keeping yourself busy. My boys and I have been having fun with our new RC airplane/helicopter hobby. Fortunately, my bride has been supportive even though we don't always bring our aircraft back in one piece. Fortunately, foamies are easily repairable. We are all electric so far. Not sure that I want to get into the nitro end of things.
Congratulations on the upcoming marriage!

Re: What I been upto
1:1 one scale, lol. that funny.
I think we enjoyed the electric boat and airplanes also,
We have still the tyco riptide, it was fast back in the day, a waverunner from radio shack.
the airplane was wing commander 2. it flew good for awhile, until the wind got it and took it into the river. I dove and swam for it, lol. but to wet to run right again.
we have the two channel, dragon fly helicopter, two of them, really need to get a 3 channel one.
I really liked the hbico aquacraft airforce airboats. one day i'll get another one of them. but not easy on the fingers, lol

Hows everyone doing ?
The forums is still slow yet, until we get closer to the season.
I sold my band saw and scroll saw the other day in a rummage sell. I still come and check things out here.
If there are pinewood derby people like me, then I imagine you have already started working on cars.
Afer a few months of playing with r/c nitro cars, I ended up having three of monster trucks. But honestly. One even had electric start. When they ran, they were great, when they did not want to start it was a pain !
So I sold them also and we have been playing with 4 wheelers, we have 3 of them, one for me and one for my wife and one for the kids to share.
I recently put a plow on mine, so I dont have to shovel the drive way. lol.
