Hello all,
Looking for locals who might have a tip on available tracks for trial runs.

Dean,
over here on easternshore near Sudlersville off of rt 301. Pack 175 Church Hill/Sudlersville Md. if you can't borrow one from local pack, try the plastic practice tracks. we generally don't provide trial runs but we do provide trial inspections to nip any discrepancies in the bud. kinda hard to fix mistakes on raceday.

Thanks Dean. Do those 8 foot sections of plastic track help you rule out any gross problems with your car? I will probably poll the group on a different board to get their opinion.
Thanks,
Seth

they're okay. they're not 8 foot lengths but you can add enough to make it real long. Biggest problems we encounter are weights added to the bottom without being countersunk allowing for the 3/8 inch clearance. I made an inspection board with a 3/8 inch strip that is same width as our track guide and if it clears, it is fine. WHen our top finishers go on to district the track guide is aluminum with 1/4 inch tall guide strip so no issues there either. next item is that axles slots have not been altered/relocated. then there's usually the loose items (weights) on top or overweight cars on race day (have drill with regular or spade bits handy) to remove weight from bottom if necessary.

I also tell scouts/parents to test roll it on flat floor and see if it pulls to either side a lot. try and get it to travel fairly straight and it should on the track (if scout lines it up okay, they are only ones to handle cars on race day).
