Down & Derby

Post by Bulldog »

Finally got to watch this movie with my family this past week. We all loved it! My son and daughter were laughing like crazy, especially during the "escape" scene. And my wife was laughing at ME during the whole movie, because she says that I'm just like those guys. (Hey, when I build a test track in the bedroom, I'll start to worry. )

Anyway, a great movie for cubscouts, pineheads, and family!

We also loved the movie and anyone who has ever built a pinewood car with their kids, can relate.
We are going to show the movie the night we hand out our kits next year, just to get everyone in the mood.

Make sure you get the version with the Scouting extras. Very good interview with Don Murphy.

p.s. Remember (shhh!), no matter where you go, there you are

Could be... I've never seen "The Adventures of Buckaroo Bonzai..."

I was just giving TJ a little "shot" about his clandestine activities.

Does the "Bonzai" movie have PWD cars in it??? If not, I probably won't get to it anytime soon.

As for my favorite Down & Derby quote, it would probably be the scene where Phil's about to place Big Jimmy's Big Rig on the test track to match up with the "Tiny Avenger", "Say Awe" and Ace's World Record car, and Phil says something along the lines of "Oh, I don't think that's regulation" to which Big Jimmy responds:

"I've still got a little sanding to do, just put it up there."

Either that, or perhaps Blaine's comment during the pre-"Escape" scene about:

"I don't want to go, I have to go... (noise)... see the difference?"

Bathroom humor, I know...

You kidding me? That was one of the funniest scenes in the movie. My kids were laughing so hard they couldn't breathe- especially after the "uh-oh".
