After two boys and 7 years of Cub Scouts, it's over. My youngest son crossed over on the 19th. Not before finishing our 7th Pack race. Here is how we fared over the last 7 years (V is my oldest son, S is my youngest son)
2005: V 1st place
2006: V 1st Place
2007: V 1st Place, S 2nd Place
2008: S 1st Place, V 2nd Place
2009: S 1st Place, V 2nd Place
2010: S 1st Place
2011: S 1st Place
Cub Scouts was tons of fun, but the Derby was the highlight each year.
This year, I was challenged by a local reporter to a race. John Marks from the Lake Wylie Pilot came out to race against me. The article turned out great. There's some good racing footage, too. Here's a link to the article:

I was extremely proud of my youngest son this year. I did very little on his car this year. If I had to guess, he did about 95% of it this year. Most of what I did was support and guide.
Thanks so much for all the camaraderie and speed tips over the years.
One more race left: Districts in April!
Going out on a high note!

That's great! Congratulations for doing so well. Hope the kids enjoyed it as much as you seemed to have.
My wife started a new support group... Widows of the Pinewood Derby.

Cool article on the derby and the people, not sure about the video.
