Any Cub racing tracks in my area? Simcoe County. Ontario

Post by kenter78 »

I'd like to see a 'real track' (wood/aliuminum ;Bestrack) as I'm trying to submit a proposal to start Cub racing. The concept is to provide an opportunity for any young person wishing to participate in the activity.

Tried emailing and 'phone calls to Bestrack; no responses.

Would appreciate any advice.

Thank you.

Do you specifically want to restrict to Besttrack brand? It uses a small radius of curvature transition from slope to flat. The MicroWizard aluminum and Piantidosi wood tracks are close to the track specification given in the Cub Scout Leader's HOW TO Book. The more gentle transition is less demanding on the cars' precision.

My contacts with MicroWizard have been quite positive.

Agree with Stan about also trying to contact Microwizard. This web page advertises many of their track customers; unfortunately, the nearest listed customer on this list I noticed was in Cambridge, ONT which is still several hours away.

BTW, "Piantidosi" wood track = Microwizard 'Classic' Wood.

Hmm. I don't think that they are selling the wood tracks anymore. It is not listed on their new website, http://derbywizard.com/

:D

Thanks for the responses. I have little knowledge of the cub racing fraternity or equipment. I am preparing a submission for youth to get opportunites to be introduced to activities in their area. The whole racing concept has appeal, I think, and I'd like to include it in the submission. Idea is to allow any youth to participate; not for scout/ cub exclusively.
Manufacturer's don't seem to respond ... but will follow-up where possible.

Thanks!

Correct. When asked, Microwizard confirmed that they no longer make the wood track.
