I think we are the same page. For example, if using the slots is a rule I would not ask if you can fill with epoxy and drill out. I would ask, like you stated, what do the inspectors look for when they look at the slots? What if the glue fills in the slots? Just the mention of "drill" may confuse the person you are asking if they are not familiar with what you are referring to.

I agree, and your suggestion to exercise discretion is best, as asking is not without some risk. Certainly we don't want to be so detailed with such queries as to be annoying. For example, if you are required to use official BSA axles, simply asking what they look for to determine that (e.g., the tips of the nails?) should provide sufficient guidance for a fill-and-drill approach.resullivan wrote:I think we are the same page.
