Shipping is important. Packing them. How they sit in the box.
I use $1 thick foam sponges from dollar tree and cut them in 1/2 and cut out the wheel area is and sandwich them. But I also use stuff to keep the wheels pushed to the car body. To reduce the loss of graphite. During shipping

I'm in! Especially since this year, I will have finished up being a Cub Scout Den Leader, and will have some time to do some building.

Still on the fence. If we send in, would probably send one to Open Scout (graphite), two to open Kids and one to open Adult (graphite).

When I last checked, the big rig rules hadn't even been posted. I do see them up now.

I was actually considering building a big rig, but I am rather disappointed in the rules. I was hoping for some more design latitude. The number of wheels required and the requirement for a trailer pin preclude many designs other than a traditional semi truck and trailer. The vehicle that I had in mind doesn't need a trailer pin, as it has no cab/trailer configuration, and has less than 18 wheels.

Now, if there was a good source for the kits, then I can see being more restrictive with the rules. However, BSA no longer offers their big rig kits. Of course, the rules require BSA wheels to be used. Beta Crafts, doesn't look to be offering their kits anymore. I know of no other big rig kit source. That leaves people to build one from scratch. That will certainly limit participation.

Randy -- I am so glad that you pointed that out -- I do not know how to write the rules and we will shortly be announcing a Big Rig "B" Division - where as you can build a car exactly as you have described - with out a pin, with out 18 wheels .... like a Fire Truck -- A Russian Missile Launcher, a Train, etc. Essentially a Wide Open Division that Craftsmanship and design can be used to the fullest extent. I just need some assistance and direction in crafting or coming up with some bases for some type of rules for the Big Rig "B" Division - -Not Semi Trucks but rather just a cool Big Rig... Please send any and all recommendation to me -- I will immediately get these posted on the website... I like Simple Easy to Inspect - that keeps the Spirit of the Division Fun and based on Craftsmanship .
