35' Best track speed

Post by Speedster »

We set up our Pack's 35' , 4 lane Best track, Champ timer last night and ran some 3 wheel rail riders, 4 3/8" wheelbase, graphite only, to check out the track. The fastest car was timed at 2.547. What I found amazing was we ran the same cars down the same lanes a seconds time and this car ran 2.547 again. I thought that was impossible. We'll see what the times are at our Pack race and then again at the District Race since the same track is used.
All you 35' Best track folks, I'd be interested in times turned on your track. Graphite or oil, it doesn't matter.

That’s a pretty good time. We just had our pack pinewood derby and my sons car averaged 2.5548 on a 35’ best track. That is a big improvement from what we did last years 2.60. Time to get ready for districts. Good luck at districts.

Our rules are pretty strict. Wheels have to sit flat, 4 3/8 wheelbase, graphite only, and all the other rules must others have.

Sloroller, you have a fast car. Was that the fastest car in the Pack race? Are you rail riding? Are you on 3 wheels?

FWIW, I set 3 wheels with 1 1/2 degrees camber. When on the ground the Negative camber on the rear wheels are leaning just enough a piece of printer paper will slide under the wheels. I realize I'm the Inspector at the Pack races but the Inspectors the District race has had for the past 10 years are interested in Length and weight. I take care of the Pit area at District so I keep an eye on what the inspectors pass on to the finish table. The Positive camber on the dfw doesn't seem to attract any attention.

Might we see a picture of your car.

Speedster.. that is a very fast time at 2.547 on a 35ft best track.

However I have seen a kid in our pack a few years back run a 2.5390 At 194.7 mph down our pack's 35 ft best track .
rail rider stock wheel base on graphite.
What type of automobile can be spelled the same forwards & backwards?
