Garage Workshop Primer ( opportunity to provide input )

This is a chance for me to benefit from the years of experience represented on this Forum. From my photos of this years cars, it's obvious that a 8 x 8 patio is not exactly the ideal "evil lair " footprint for extensive derby car creations and other such woodworking feats.
To that end, and much to the delight of my wife and family, we are moving to a real house in a few weeks. There is a 21 x 21 garage with the homeowners leaving behind a full section of workshop type cabinets, counters, and pegboard. I am interested in gaining some insight into the "makings of an evil lair" ( garage workshop ). Here are a few of the areas I need some input on:
Basic shop tools ( brand recommendations, feature recommendations, etc ):
band saw
chop saw
table saw
sanders
drill press
airbrush
shop vac
Shop Storage ( ideas, plans, etc ):
Workbench
Lumber Storage
