Recommended scales

Post by rookie20 »

Our local area has asked our scouting group to host the area kub kars. In Canada we have to weigh the cars in grams. The actual amount is 141.7 grams. I bought a scale from from pinewood derby last year (AWS model amw-13), a great scale but it only weighs to the nearest gram. This scale will round up or down depending on the cars weight. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good scale and if so were yo buy the scale. Also I am hoping to use it to weigh the 18 wheeler's for our scout group.

:welcome: rookie20,

Most of the pocket scales that I know of that weigh in grams..
will not reach over the 700 g capacity for the semi trucks.
As 600 g max capacity is the highest capacity I've seen that weigh in grams for the pocket scales.

From there the max capacity jumps up to the 5000 gram for the desk top types.
What type of automobile can be spelled the same forwards & backwards?

For our big rig race we used the Park Tool Tabletop Digital Scale - DS-2 scale. It can be switched from oz. to grams (3000 gram capacity).
