Best timer for single lane test track

Post by Crommix »

Hi folks,

I'm looking for a simple single lane timer for my test track. It doesn't need any bells & whistles. I just need it to be accurate and reliable.

Any recommendations?

There are several company's making timers.

And it's based of needs and what your looking for in your timer system.

New Bold Products has one you might look at to see if it fits your needs for a single lane test track timer system.

The one lane turbo lite system.

I once had a single lane Judge time from http://www.newdirections.ws. It worked quite well. Talk to John Shrefler at NewDirections.

If saving money is your concern, you may want to look at the K1 kit.

Another option would be to roll your own with an Arduino and PCB that David Gadberry supplies.

Since you want a single lane timer I have to assume you want it to show elapsed time. I suppose that was something I should have taken for granted.
MicroWizard K3 single lane timer will show elapsed time. It is $310.00 and if you don't have access to electricity where your track is located you can buy a battery pack for $8.00. It takes 6 C-cell batteries. If you want the times to show on a computer it will take a Computer Serial Interface Option which costs $60.00. If you are very knowledgeable with this stuff (Nope, I'm not. I bought both of mine all put together) you can buy kits that are much cheaper. Try using Derbytalk search function. There might be a wealth of information there.
What kind of track do you have? There are different mounts for different tracks.
