New Pinewood Track
A new interesting track has recently come on the market. This is the Magic Track http://www.derbymagic.com I have done a little retooling, and now supplying both finish lines http://www.newdirections.ws/DerbyMagic.html and remote start gates http://www.newdirections.ws/MagicGateMount.html

It looks interesting but I don't see a picture of the transition part of the track. This is the area I would like to see a picture of.

You can see the transition in Fig 11 of the Assembly Instructions download at the bottom of http://www.derbymagic.com/assembly.html

Re: New Pinewood Track
I'd be a bit concerned about the screws being in the running surface of the wheels. I doubt that they are perfectly level with the track surface, so that could create a pot hole or bump, depending on the screw head's relation to the track surface.
As I pointed out in another thread, the start gate being spring loaded closed is not a good design and another cause for concern.
It does have a ramp type stop section (seems awfully short at that). While many tracks have that style stop section, I very much like the design where the wheels drop out from under the car, like Piantedosi Oars and Best Track now supply.
I do like the idea of the wiring channel and use of an aluminum support structure.
On the New Directions website (but not the DerbyMagic website) it mentions that the track can be flipped over and used as a Match Box Derby track. Though, that doesn't seem like it would be a quick changeover.
I wonder what the pin height is. From the pictures, it seems quite a bit higher than other tracks that I have seen.
The track shows promise, but there are some things that need to be addressed on it to make it more competitive with the other commercial tracks out there.
