Building Test Track - need angles

Greetings to all. New member here.

With this year's derby's over the project now is to build a test track. I have the timer hardware and software, and found some materials that should work out. But There are some specs that I need. I was hoping that someone might have them.

I have read to use a 30 degree angle down - though in pictures it is looks to be 60 - like the slope is an equilateral triangle. What would be the degrees between the angle coming straight up from the ground to the running surface of the track?

My biggest question is how sharp the radius is for the bend that transitions from the down angle to the flat. Too sharp an angle and the car would bottom out. Not sharp enough and I won't get that "kick" when the cars level out.

Much thanks to anyone with the numbers.

Thanks

If you want to try to mimic a BestTrack, which is what a lot of the high-profile races run, they actually put the specs online. You can view them here.

Thank you. I downloaded the sketch.

26 degrees upward angle from end. And a 4 foot radius,

The Keystone Capital District race uses that track. They are nice. And fast!

If you are going to build a single lane test track you can buy the curve for $33.00 and $20.00 shipping. You'll then not have to be concerned with it ever changing shape.

From "Best Track". That's the only curve. Everything else is straight lanes.
