Computer Backup during the Race?

Post by Buckeye »

I am preparing to run the District race and I am looking to avoid any potential problems. What ways have people setup to handle the failure of the primary computer?

We use GrandPrix Race Manager for software. Is the simplest way to backup to a rewritable cd after each heat and then have a second computer setup with the sofware?

All suggestions would be appreciated.

I would try a jump drive. I would be quicker than writing a CD.

I would recommend keeping your data file on a USB jump drive as well, if you are concerned about computer failure. If the computer does go kaput, then you can move the jump drive to another computer quickly.

Good idea. We hadn't thought about a mid-race failure.
