It looks neat, but I am not sure how true of a test it really is.

This page says a top speed of 22 mph.

That is cooking definitely.

With the original photos, it looked to be a wood track. But it is the aluminum track sections from Piantedosi Oars. Now that must have been big $$$ for all of that aluminum.

Imagine if a car came flying off of the track near the bottom?

I read that they really inspected the cars before they were allowed to run.

That was a very good idea.

From what I was told, from the museum employees that I talked to, the track is owned by the museum and they are going to run on it next year. I'll keep my eye on the museums web page and let everyone know when.

On a business trip I went the IMAX theater in that museum! I visited the Speedway first. Experience of a lifetime!

I wish they had the track setup then.

That is something else. That is one long track with a very steep long hill.
What amazes me most of all is how are the cars going to stop on that very short stopping section.
Once in motion stays in motion until acked upon by another force. :eee: :wall:

I stumbled upon this.
On Feb. 21, 2010, the Wave will have on hand what is being billed as the world's largest Pinewood Derby track. Fans will be invited to bring their cars in to race on the track. The Wave will face the Kixx that day.

Largest or do they mean longest?

I just emailed the guy who wrote the article to see if he has length and/or lane details.
