Re: PINEWOOD DERBY 500
There’s no way I would put all the time, effort, and money involved in making a fast car to have it not be returned. Mid America wheels - $50 Axles- 20 Air shields- 20 Tungsten - 20 Washers- 2 And that’s not even taking into account the time and skill put into the car. I doubt any serious builders w...

Re: PINEWOOD DERBY 500
No offense intended, but who the hell is going to send cars to a race if they won’t be returned?

Re: Homemade Concentricity Gauge
Never used Awana wheels. I use .096 through .0985 pin gauges for BSA wheels.

Re: Homemade Concentricity Gauge
I’ll add my improvement to this thread. I have a few different holes drilled into the block that allows me to change out the pin gauge size to match the wheel bore diameter. Using a properly sized pin gauge makes for less slop and gives you a more accurate reading of the wheel roundness. Sent from m...

Re: Wheel Bore Sealer
Yes, the bore sealer from Derby Evolution, not the cleaning product. Problem is when I do it either way I’m left with a bore that is less shiny than simply polishing with Novus 2. Wondering if this is normal. I’ve been inspecting my process more carefully this season, and the sheen lessens after app...

Wheel Bore Sealer
Hey Derby Talk, I recently tried the Simple Green bore sealer and found that it left my bores less shiny than simply polishing with Novus 2 when inspecting with a magnifying glass. Should a sealer leave the bore with less sheen? I tried both cleaning it off within a short amount of time and also le...
