2020 Belly Tank Racer, my entry for Outlaw Class
Our leaders/adults outlaw class runs modified rules. Here's my build for this year, based on the old salt flat belly tank racers.

That's a beautiful paint job and I'm guessing it's rail riding. Would you tell us where the balance point is on that car?

COOL!
Did you drill holes in the wheels?
And, am I seeing right, you are running washers between axle heads and wheels on your three touching wheels?

Speedster, The car is overall an inch longer, since we do not have as stringent dimensional requirements for outlaws. Most of the weight is in the added read section with the COB about 1/4" behind the rear axle. I actually had to add a touch of weight up in the nose of the car to keep it nose down through the transition point of the track. The paint is a testors metallic red with three coats of hardened clear wet sanded between each coat. It's really glossy/shiny and took forever but it was worth it. I've drilled our the axles/spokes on my last three cars and besides looking more vintage it helps reduce a little weight as well. I have a jig for my drill press that keeps them all evenly spaced and straight. The silver on the wheels is just a sharpie I use while on the wheel jig. I'm not using washers, but I 3D printed air dams with brake calipers on them for the front wheels. It's a three wheel rail rider setup. and currently hitting the scale at exactly 5.0 oz. will be running on a 42' bestrack.

Because there is nothing to visually scale the car I thought this thing was 18” long. The rim coloring makes the wheel look extra fat that my mind made me think they were rubber tires. What an amazing look and effect. I am really impressed.
