Holy Cow Whoda. My kids and wife are going Gaga over it.
(So did the kids when I raced it !)

When I told them the engine was pine too I think one of them fainted.
( Are you kidding me ?)
I would have been the one who would have Fainted if I could of pulled of making all the internal motor parts.
However lots of little details went into making it look like a big block motor.

Update 3

Sanded and ready for paint. Wheels and axles are done. Once it is painted and the wheels are on I’ll get it to 141.748g.

I did an aged wood look on a car a couple years ago. I called it Barn Find. I later found out the wood actually came from an old barn.

Date to be determined. Would like to do on actual anniversary, but May 15 falls on a Mon. It will be between March and May 15th. I have to find an available Sat that athletics or other department is not using the gym.

I did, and didn't discover any date information. A quote on the About page in the past tense implied that this year's event had already past: "In 2022 the West Coast Grand Prix went international. There were entries from Spain." Also, the expired countdown timer on the Home page with the words "70th Anniversary of ​Pinewood Derby Celebration" made me wonder if it might have already past...

But based on your response, I will now assume the 70th Anniversary event is not until 2023.

That is correct. I have been working on updates. School starts next week. I start back tomorrow. Hope to have date soon. Then countdown date and new countdown will be posted.

Plan on somewhere between March 4 and May 13, 2023. What class or classes look most interesting to you?
